About Hinneh

A little reading. A closer look. A deeper encounter with Scripture.

Why Hinneh exists

Hinneh is a free, independent Christian learning project by L.J. (Love Jesus). It helps readers spend time with the Bible in Hebrew and Greek, noticing its words and grammar instead of rushing past them.

Our desire is to help people understand Scripture and know Jesus Christ. You do not need an account or a language course to begin.

Read, listen and look closer

Choose a book, chapter and verse. Fresh visits begin with the Proverbs chapter for your local day of the month; a link to a particular passage opens that passage.

The reading line keeps the original text visible. Small cues explain grammar on hover or tap. Select a word to open its meaning, morphology, source notes and lexicon link. Word pictures are memory aids: a general picture does not settle every meaning of a word.

Use a word’s speaker to hear a saved pronunciation clip where available, or use the passage controls for a reading. Greek renditions are labelled, including Modern with Aspirates and Erasmian where recordings exist.

Helpful aids, honest limits

All 66 books are available in the pinned source editions. Artwork, word pictures, audio and Spanish meanings have different levels of coverage; an unavailable item stays unavailable.

Illustrations and saved pronunciation audio are AI-assisted. They can contain mistakes. Drafts and review states are labelled, and a picture is not a substitute for the text. Use “Report image issue” on an illustration that needs attention.

English and Spanish interfaces share the same Hebrew and Greek text. Source notes identify the actual source and approval state of a gloss; Hinneh does not blend unreviewed machine text into an unmarked translation.

Built on shared work

Hinneh draws on carefully attributed language resources and published source editions. Each passage has its own sources and notes. The Sources page gives an overview of the people and projects behind them.
